And we have an apartment :)

I held off on blogging until I knew for sure, but I found out a little while ago, we got an apartment.

Friday we drove out to Watertown and were quite disappointed with the places we looked at. Then we stayed at my uncles and drove down Saturday to look at places in Waltham - much nicer! The first place was a type of complex and it was nice, all new stuff very easy, small but nice - so we decided it was a definate unless we found something perfect. The next few places were more spacious but older not nice. Then we went to this apartment, it's in a 4 family building, only a 1 bedroom but it has a diningroom and when we walked in we loved it. It is pretty spacious, really kept up nice. It's actually the owners of the building's apartment and they are buying a house and moving so they are now renting out their apartment. For 1350 we took it (of course that doesn't include any utilities). Plus I can't take my rabbit, there's no room for him but I will take him to the local humane society they only have 2 rabbits there now and one is kind of like him, maybe he'll get to be comfortable around other rabbits. I really will miss him, i just spent a half hour with him and he's so friendly, he will hate a caged life, i hope he gets a good owner with room for him.

So we took the apartment, pending checks on our credit and employment and went back to my uncle's. We then went to a furniture store and picked out all the furniture we like, bedroom set 1500, livingroom 1500 diningroom table 600, all not too bad. Of course we didn't buy anything yet but we will later on once we are in the place. I really can't wait to move. I've already started packing stuff up in boxes and going through my closets, throwing things out. My clothes I went through a while ago and did the salvation army thing so they should be all set. I do have to worry about getting some work clothes but I can use a credit card the week before work and be able to pay it off a month later.

I've been working a lot to save up, we should be able to cover all the bills, if my boyfriend helps out (he wants to) we should have no problem even with furniture, just get that on credit until I get a few paychecks and can pay it off (store credit not credit cards).

So this saturday is our pig roast/graduation parties. Friday I have to clean the entire house top to bottom and before that I have to help get the yard cleaned up. Other than that I'm free to work and cross stitch. If i get 2 more hours of work in today then I will feel free to cross stitch to relax and garden when my mom's home to help.

My new bookcase is all finished and set up. I filled it right up, now I just need to find room for all the stuff that was piled in front of my old bookcase that doesn't fit on the new one either (although the new one does fit a lot more stuff than the old).

Well enough babbling--i have some emails to write!

3 weeks left...

Well graduation weekend was fun - exhausting but fun. Friday night we stayed up playing battlefield 1942 until 5am! Then I got up at 6am in order to be to graduation by 8. That was not fun. We all made it though and sat through the 4 hour ceremony in the direct sun, sweating to death (we all got funny sun burns too). Then right as it ended it started pouring out, so we got soaked and the information booklets were red and leaked red ink all over everyone's good clothes. Luckily for me i was wearing a red dress.

After that long long day - we headed home and relaxed for a bit, i was afraid to sleep thinking i wouldn't get up for dinner, then we went to dinner at the Dakota which was good. My grandparents got me the complete mat cutting system for framing and some other things, i was psyched but haven't had a chance to try it out yet (just played with everything ) :)

The rest of the week was pretty blah, i did almost nothing, a little work, got my bookcase almost done, one coat of poly left and then it's done. Today I worked at the dept of ed and just did some updates on the website. Tomorrow though starts a busy weekend. 7pm we have an appointment in Boston to look at an apartment, then saturday i have 3 appointments set up to look at more. The rest of the time we'll be hanging out at my uncle's. Sunday we are going to stop at my sister's new apartment and see that. Then next week hopefully I can start packing. If i don't like these places I will up my amount a month and look at more places that are 1400/month next week. So far they are a little under and one or two for 1200, all in Waltham and a big selling point is parking for two cars because that can cost 100/month which might as well raise the rent anyway :) Really I am psyched, just to look and maybe i'll find the perfect place saturday. In the mean time tonight and tomorrow are busy - gotta change the oil, get work done, finish the last coat on the bookcase, varnish some of the wood crafts I did and stitch some more on the Noah's arc piece.

As far as stitching - I started the Noah's arc piece on my hand dyed blue fabric, 28 ct over 1 thread, it's going to be small but I have a great plan for it. I will cut a doulbe opening mat and put this piece in one opening and a picture of the baby in the other - i just need to get a picture too, this way i get to you my new mat cutter and pic out one of the many mats they also got me!

Well - time is money and i must earn it so off i go!

Time is flying by!

Graduation is saturday, i can't believe it, my life is almost over. So pretty much I do nothing all day :) seriously though today was a nothing day... most days i've been working on the website for about 3 hours of the day but yesterday and today i've been in a lull, i'm meeting with the owner tomorrow to discuss what's next to be worked and stuff.

I'm almost done with my round robin piece still - i did stitch about one thread length today but that's it. I've been reading a new book and it's kinda got me hooked, from now on i am going to try to read only one chapter a day - just before bed, i love reading but there are so many other things to do during the day. I haven't started the noah's arc piece yet i want to finish the heart first.

Today I weeded the garden a bit more (it's slowly getting there but it's a mess of a garden then it's on to all the other gardens).. not tomorrow but maybe friday after i clean the house i'll work more on it or wait till next week. i haven't started staining my bookcase yet either, waiting on the stain from my dad. he said he has the perfect one and he doesn't want me to buy some even though it's only like 8 dollars. so i'm waiting.

I also moved my computer from the desk to over by the chair in my livingroom so now it's much more comfortable to use that computer ( i usually just use my lap top) besides that i layed out in the sun and read a bit and pretty much that was it besides playing computer games with my boyfriend. Killed the whole day away. Tomorrow however I have to go to albany to work at lunch time, then i get to go to joann's and kill some time until 5 when i'm meeting the website owner to discuss the site. Friday will hopefully be a clean the house day and maybe stain the bookcase. Saturday graduation and games and dinner, sunday who knows. Then back to nothing - although next week i need to go look at some apartments already! I only have 4 weeks before i start work which means only 3 weeks till i have to move if i'm going to have an apartment before i start my job!! Friday i will call hopefully and make some appointments to go out next week with my boyfriend. Yikes!

When it happens it all happens so fast!

Wow they changed the blogger...

A new look completely, how strange! I was just thinking that I spend the time writing here, mostly just to get things off my chest, and I have no idea if anyone is even reading this, there are a few blogs I read a lot and they have no idea I read theirs... what a strange setup.

Anyhow... Another weekend gone by, the time to start work moves closer still. Next weekend is my graduation ceremony two weeks after is the party then two weeks after that i leave.

In the cross stitch world :: I finished stitching the little bag called Measuring Up, it holds a small measuring tape and I love it, it was so much fun to stitch and put together. Other than that I've been working a bit on the round robin I have right now and I just finished dyeing fabric for the baby piece I'm doing next, it's a Noah's Arc piece for my friend's sister's baby. I dyed the fabric blue but it got brown stains on it so I tried bleaching it and redying it, it came out good but then I wrapped it in the towel that had bleach on it still so then I had to redye it again, finally it is done and it looks really nice. I may be able to start stitching tomorrow.

Other than that I've been working on a bunch of other projects, just finished some rub on transfers onto some glass jars for the kitchen(herb theme) and I bought a book full of garden inspired crafts, three of which i really want to do so I need to go to Joann's again soon - probably thursday.

Besides that I've been working on the website and I read a new book yesterday "Daughter of Ireland" it was really good and I couldn't put it down. --- 10pm -- time to spend some time with my cross stitch :)

Stitching away...

I literally just finished the stitching of the little measuring tape pouch from last weekend. It needs to be put together but that needs an iron and I don't have one that I can adjust the setting on so I'll have to go next door tomorrow to use my mom's. It's cute though and I can't wait to see it finished.

As for my other little projects they will be on hold temporarily, my friend's sister is about to have a baby and I agreed to stitch a sampler for the baby, a noah's arc piece i found in a magazine I have... actually I didn't find it but a friend online found it and I happened to have the same magazine. I'm going to pick up the fabric for it tomorrow at ACMoore and start it this weekend, i'm hoping it won't take too long so I can get back to working on my smaller pieces and maybe start the large piece for my boyfriend.

A big surprise the other day, my dad stopped by and dropped off my birthday/graduation present, he built me the bookcase I drew for him. It was a shock, i wasn't sure he'd actually make it, but now I have it and it just needs to be stained. My dad's going to bring home some stain and poly for me so i can finish it this weekend, i just have to buy a brush.

Well it's a late night and I have a semi-early morning, plus I need to turn the lights off because the bugs are out and driving me nuts!

One word - Celebrations!!

Literally the best weekend I've had in a long time, now I must describe in detail :)

Friday, got up early and packed and headed out at 9am to NH. Arrived by noon (hungry but couldn't think about food)... so I signed up for classes and payed to shop for the day, filled out some raffle tickets etc. Shopping: I walked into the room and I was overwhelmed, I didn't know where to start, I did a walk around gazing at things I've never seen before, so many nice threads, frames, fabrics and finished pieces on the walls! I noticed a few prices (yikes) and walked on. Finally I started my second trip around, this time I examined the pieces on the wall, determined to buy one pattern that I liked -- I ended up buying 3 :) The first pattern I found I really wanted uses a lot of WDW threads so I bought a few of the ones it calls for, i'll have to buy the rest later since I couldn't afford too many, i think i spent 10 dollars on just those threads. Then I went to Needle Pulling Thread, I found like 8 finished pieces I liked but I narrowed it down to two, one comes with beads, it has some companion pieces I really wanted but I couldn't afford. So I got out of there spending less than 40 dollars! Phew!

So I head to my uncle's house, starving now, and I get lost in Nashua, finally figure out where I am (close to BAE Systems where I interviewed months ago) and find my way to rt 111. On the way I stop to eat quick, it's an hour drive taking the back way but it's only about 25 miles. I arrive earlier than I"m expected but my cousins don't mind, they have a play date so I kind of babysit them while the moms go inside with the babies quick. 4 hours later the play date leaves and my uncle gets home, the kids wind down and go to bed and we just relax.

Saturday, I'm up early to play with the kids, then leave around 10 to go to my other cousin's soccer game, get sun burned :) But she does good and they win! By 2 I'm back at the hotel, ready for my first class:

I come in, she passes out the kit, i start to look at it, I don't recognize a single stitch, i start to get nervous, maybe i'm in over my head! Luckily she was a great teacher, took her time going over the stitches so I felt very comfortable, we didn't get anywhere near finishing but she described everything we needed to know to finish and I loved the class. During the break I went to get some food and I ran into my boyfriend's step mother! I couldn't believe it! THey were on their way to Maine for lobster, she noticed all the cross stitchers and realized this was the weekend I was talking about and she had started looking for me. What a shock! Out in Nashua!
So at 6 i waited to meet some fellow stitchers, but at 5 after I was worried I had missed them and I was freezing in the AC, so I went to stitch right outside on the patio. That was great, it was gorgeous out! Then at 7 it was time for the event, ice cream, bingo where we win goodies (I won some more WDW, an ornament kit and a fourth of july pattern), then we got our project which is real cute and I can't wait to make it! I left early though so i'm sure I missed some important directions but it was a long drive. The drive went better the second time at least!

Sunday - up at 6! Got ready, even hung out with one of the girls for a bit but left at 7, class at 8 - another fun class, this one we never started the project in just practiced all the stitches and I bought another little kit from the teacher (up to 50 dollars spending). Break time at 11 I went outside to stitch again and I started that project, got two whole lines done. Then it was time for the RR where I got 4 new projects to start, I started the first one, a scissor fob. Then I headed home - long drive! When I got home I made my boyfriend look at everything as I explained how great a time I had, then I finished up the scissor fob so I'd have one thing finished!
That was the weekend!!
Since then I've finished the box top which is the first part of the first class I took. It had some drawn thread and some bullion knots, that was the only two hard parts but it's finished and I love it. Today I just started the RR piece from that same teacher, it's a little bag that holds a tiny measuring tape, it uses Caron Waterlilies Nefertiti - which I LOVE, and i'm not sure I'll have enough so o darn i'll have to buy some!!! I really do love this thread. I just put it down though because today I need to focus on the website and make some serious progress! It's a must.. so I have a few hours now that I will work and when I make progress I get a break to stitch quick! And I'll leave it at that because this was a long entry!

2 days...

And I get to leave for the Celebration of Needlework! I can't wait! I am going to leave early friday too, so I can get there early to shop and maybe stitch. Then head to my uncle's to visit with the kids since I won't see them much the rest of the weekend. Saturday I'm going to my other cousin's soccer game then back to the convention by 2 for classes. I'm meeting up with a few 123stitcher's for dinner and then going to the ice cream social/class which I will probably leave a bit early for so I don't have to drive too late. Then back by 8am for more classes on sunday!

So school is done, I've been working a bit the last few days, not too much though since I had other things to do but tomorrow I have lots of time to work and then next week since I'm taking the weekend off! I finished the wood tray I decorated, but I think I'm going to retry it because the crackled paint didn't work real well on the sides so I'm going to repaint the sides brown then crackle with the white again, maybe a thicker coat will crackle better because the center crackled fine - that's hidden by the daisy tiles though. I will put pictures up soon, just want to get it done first.

Today I went to Joan's and I bought some plant pots to decorate as well as some new stencils. One of the planters I'm going to try the crackle thing on and then decoupage a fern to the outside. The other I will try either painting and stenciling or just stenciling. I also bought a ceramic pot that I wanted to put rub on transfers on but the one I bought won't go on straight, i need smaller ones that don't wrap around so that may get saved until another trip to AC Moore which has a much better selection. Once I finish decorating the pots I then need to plant something so next week it's off to the store, I may start with seeds and try to grow some herbs in them, haven't decided for sure yet, I just don't like useless plants that you have to water, herbs I can dry and use, get some oregano and parsley (my rabbit loves parsley).

My WIP is coming along, the top now says "Win" - only ter left and then all the blue surrounding it. I don't think I will pick it up tonight because it's 11:30 and I'm ready for bed, but tomorrow I will definately make some time for it. I also got my new RR to work on - it's really cute, these little quilt hearts, I can't wait to do one, I just have to check the list of colors make sure I have them all or else I can't start it this weekend.

Well it's been a long day - rough too for my stomach, so I'm in need of some rest! I'm sure I'll have a long blog on monday though!

A lot sure has changed...

I can't believe I didn't blog on saturday - so many things were (and are) going good. I finished my take home exam saturday - and then got an email from my financial accounting teacher that I didn't have to take the final in that class because my grade was so high. That means I am officially done with my BA degree tomorrow when I hand in my exam - then I have to TA CS1 one more time and who-la - completed. I also get my final math grade tomorrow which I really hope is an A :)

So that was going great, plus yesterday since everything was going so well I tried out some decoupage- I have this craft magazine, not sure which one and there were two wood projects in it i really liked so i had bought all the material needed to make them. Well yesterday I did the little foot stool one which has decoupage hydrangea flowers in a tiled look on top. The stool is also painted - it came out cute, definately my first try at decoupage, so there are a few bumps in the border paper - since it was a connected border and I tried to do that first - didn't go so well. But it will look great with a plant on top -- now i just need a plant :) I'll wait till I get a new apartment. Next on the list is a tray that is crackle painted and then has stenciled tiles decoupaged to the face. I stenciled daisies instead of ferns because the fern stencil was so expensive and I like daisies best :) So I did the stencil part today - this week maybe I'll get to painting the tray and then doing the crackle stuff - also new to me.

Then today I got to cross stitch, I finished up the round robin that is to be mailed tomorrow, and then worked on my WIP -It's Winter (but it's not winter any more so I'd like to finish it up soon) -- all that is left now is the top banner that says winter and is surrounded by blue. I will bring it to school tomorrow too since I have a lot of free time. I do want to start something new this week before going to the Needlework show in Nashua which I'm all signed up for now (well it has to be mailed tomorrow). I am paying 260 dollars to shop friday/sat/sun and take 4 classes, 1 is not really a class more of a social event, and 3 actually classes. I really can't wait = I have no idea what to expect but I'm sure it will be great!

I also found out that my boyfriend's step mom use to cross stitch - and she has 4 bins full of old magazines, books, patterns, fabric etc that she says I'm welcome to look through and take anything I will use. She doesn't stitch anymore (she does quilt - but has been really busy lately) -- and the reason it's coming up now is because she was going through the attic and remembered this stuff. It's really nice of her and I look forward to going through it, we're not close, but it would be nice if we went through it together and maybe had something to "bond" over, I'd love to hear the projects she's done in the past, what things she always hoped to stitch etc. My boyfriend is pretty much getting along with his parents right now so it wouldn't be out of the question - this is because he is finally moving out at the end of the summer - since he is finishing his BA too and going to law school. Not that he doesn't get along with them otherwise but I think this has helped, atleast with his step mom - his dad doesn't care either way, they always have a great bond.

Well enough of that - I am in the middle of painting my nails a new shade - some ruby sapphire prism stuff - hopefully it doesn't look like i'm sick or something.

I guess I need to vent a bit...

It's after midnight - I'm still awake - trying to work on my final exam (take home). It's really tough. I got the second problem done and 1/3 of the the third problem done (the easy 1/3). The first problem i can't even figure out how to start it. I'm not too worried about my grade - I've been doing really well and this test is out of 140 so I'm sure if I get atleast an 80 I will get an A in the class. Just the stress of it all -- and it's not due till Monday. I can't work on it tomorrow however- I have to and i mean HAVE to study for my math final which is thursday. I guess now i'm wishing i voted for having the final monday so I could finish the take home first then study all weekend.

I did manage to go running today (and yesterday) - so that's two days now. Then I made myself a nice big milk shake - unfortunately. It was real good though and probably the most calorie intake of the day (besides my steak for dinner). The other bad news is the website is down - not that I have time just now to work on it but that's really bad since I just got it switched over to this new server last week and it's already down - i can't even log into the database. Making me really mad! Something needs to be figured out why the database keeps going bad no matter which server it's on.

So after Monday I will be care free with only one final the following week (financial accounting - no biggie) -- giving me a week to catch up on the 9 chapters of reading (basically no reading since the last test) -- and do the homework problems. Luckily I also have a great grade in that class so i'm not too worried at all.

Celebration of Needlework NH is coming up in a week and a half! I can't wait - it will be the perfect rest before my final exam :) Seriously though I've never been to anything like it and I can't wait. Maybe tomorrow I'll print out the form and fill out the classes I want to take and send it in - that way i can't back out since it will cost me around 200-250. Luckily I don't need a hotel room too!
Well - back to my books, gotta see if i can get the first problem started atleast a little bit - not hoping too much though - then it's off to bed to worry :(

Wednesday, April 14, 2004

A good day ..

Now atleast :) Today was pretty stressful for a bit but now I got things working and I'm feeling good.

The website just got moved to a new server (well I moved it anyway) -- and I think I finally got it all working now so it's working atleast to the point it was on the old server, now it's just the test to see if the database gets corrupted or not.

I have a little over a week to finish the round robin i'm working on. I am on the second cat now - it's the april one so it has a basket of easter eggs, kinda fun to stitch. I'll get some pics on the site soon.

Other than that I have homework to do tonight - everything that's due tomorrow is done but I have stuff due monday i want to get a good start on. If i can do that tonight - and then sleep in tomorrow (morning class is cancelled) -- then i am busy friday. Friday my mom is taking me to the mall to buy me clothes for my birthday. I have some money too so I can probably buy some other stuff too.. plus we're going to a quilt shop so I can buy some threads. Which reminds me i have to make a list of the threads I do have.

So i'm off to get stuff done!

A productive 2 days...

So I have Tues and Wed off during the week - so I sleep in :) Yesterday I worked on the website a bit, hung out with my boyfriend and played computer games a lot. Then I was up late getting my math homework done, the key there being that it's done :) Then started my computer homework that's due next week.

Today I got up relatively early since I didn't get to sleep till 2 am. I worked on the website more, then quilted a bit and cross stitched and i'm back to the website. I'm actually going to get a start on my accounting homework now.

This weekend is looking to be fun, friday it's out to my uncle's again to see the family, then saturday relax with them mostly, saturday night the rest of the family will come by for dinner, then sunday we go to my other uncle's for dinner and then home. Then monday is my boyfriend's birthday, hopefully that means going to dinner, I only have 2 classes that day compared to the regular 4 and at 2 hours a class that's a real change, and nice day. Tuesday and wed off again too :) Plenty of time to get work done on the website.. and next saturday is my birthday! 22!
Well time to get some more work done.. so i can get to bed pretty early!

Sunday, April 04, 2004

Well it's sunday so I made it on time. This past week was good I guess-- busy. Thursday night was horrible, after a long day of classes (and horrible rain) I drove out to Boston , Burlington to be exact - and the drive was the worst, I couldn't see anything, thank goodness I ran into no flooding problems though, just visibility was a problem. Then I couldn't find the hotel in Burlington for a while (I drove around for 40 minutes and finally got there at 11). Needless to say I was exhausted and went right to bed. The interview Friday went well, they seem very positive about sending me a job offer and I look forward to hearing from them. Then I went to my Aunt and Uncle's house and we had a good night, went out to eat, watched a movie. Saturday we chatted and had breakfast, around 1 I went to my other Aunt and Uncle's house and visited with them for a quick few hours -- chatting and playing with the kids, holding the baby -- these were a very happy fulfilling two days of family time :) Then I headed home to go to dinner with my boyfriend (around 9pm).

So I have this homework assignment due tomorrow and it's literally taking 3 hours to run just to see if i even programmed it right - my internet connection won't even stay online for 3 hours so I'm thinking this will be a problem. It's up to 10 of 90 iterations and each one takes quite a few minutes already. At the same time the website I'm working on is locked up again - pain in the arse. The database keeps getting messed up and I think it's the server's fault or something. I don't even know what to do at this point. I think mySQL needs to be updated but since I can't find the reason for the problem there's nothing to do right now to fix it. So I can't work on the site even while I wait for this to run. The worst part is that after it runs it needs to then run again! and if there's a problem with the code it needs to run again a few times! At the very least I can run my approximation and hand that in. The last part of the homework hasn't even been started because I don't have this part done yet! I hope I can maintain an A in this class.

Well this week I have a homework assignment to get done that finally has no programming - I have work on the website to do and probably get a bunch of cross stitch/quilting fun stuff done :) So I'm off to find some way to start the next part while this is still running!

Monday, March 29, 2004

I missed my sunday night. Luckily I have monday...

The past week was definately different, it flew by too. My interview on Tuesday went really well, I can't wait to hear back from them, hopefully before my interview on Friday with MIT LL. I really like the company, and the people, the area, everything. MIT LL is closer to boston though, so it's going to be a toss up based on salary probably (if i get the jobs).

School is going good, I already finished an assignment that's due on Thursday and now I'm going to get a move on an assignment due next Monday, try to stay ahead of things. The next few weekends are filling up so I have to spend time during the week really cracking down.

I started running finally, 4th day today. I didn't run Saturday because it was raining but Sunday my boyfriend ran with me. Today was a short run because I got up late, about 15 minutes but the rest of the week I can sleep in and still run (except thursday). Friday I won't be running since I'll be in boston, saturday i will try at my uncles to still go. I need to stick with it for 3 weeks, see if there's results and if not figure out what to try next (add in some dieting maybe or something). .. getting close to summer!

I finally had some time to stitch, not much but I am almost done with the Cherished Teddy RR piece, just a little bit of backstitching left, and I'm bringing it to school today in case I have break time between classes to pull it out. Next I have another RR piece of cats to do, they are by month so I'm going to start with the halloween one then do my birthday one (april).

Money is finally not an issue, although that's thanks to all the work I have. I have been working on this website for a while now, just running into some problems now that I need to figure out and then I can get back to making new changes. I actually have to do some updates on it, maybe tomorrow, but i'm also headed to NYSED tomorrow to finish up some more work there, maybe schedule another day to go as well to work on documentation.

Well - school is calling and my hair is still wet so i must go finish getting ready, and head off! I love that spring is here, some warmer weather and sunshine too!!!

Sunday, March 21, 2004

just feeling the weight of life right now...

The week after spring break was tough - extremely busy - I quit my job at Amici so atleast it's the last week that's that busy. This week will be busy though. Tomorrow after classes I fly out to Boston - then Tuesday interview and fly back. Wednesday I work in Albany and finish up homework and thursday classes - thank goodness for friday being free though! I actually have a lot of work to get done right now too--- the website I'm working on is in the middle of updates that i need to finish up soon -- but first I have a computer assignment that needs finishing and then a financial accounting assignment, actually i'll do that first so it's done.

Well not much else to say - or atleast not much time to ramble - I'll be back when i have time :)

Been a while...

Well things have been busy I guess you could stay - Spring break is over but I am yet to get a day off - before spring break was a really hectic week, I worked on my midterm at my aunt and uncle's the weekend before, saw my cousins, including the new addition Maia - who is adorable and I'm sure changed a lot since then. The middle one is now potty trained (diapers at night still) and doing great, the oldest is on the brink of reading, sounding things out, sight reading, all at 4 1/2 - she's really turning into a little person it's amazing.

We got back sunday pretty early and I managed to almost finish my midterm - the computing parts atleast. Then with school and work I didn't get much else done until Wednesday when I studied for my math midterm and finished my computer one. Thursday, took midterm and basically glided through the day in a daze-- stayed up too late, got up at 4am and we headed down to NJ for my interview at 8. That went really well and I loved the work, but the area didn't impress me too much. My boyfriend spent the day in the city, he went to St. John's and went to one of the classes to see how he liked it. Then it was spring break, I guess we kinda relaxed that weekend - except sunday I spent working on the website, then monday - thursday all work. Friday worked some more on the website and then took the night off to watch movies. Yesterday was homework and work and today is the same. I did however get to sleep in the past two days atleast.
This coming week is a tough one - school/work everyday but wednesday - my much needed day for more studying (exam on thursday). Plus I think I'll be quitting my job because i make almost nothing when I could be working on the website those days for 4 times the money (less hours same money and get schoolwork done). I really like the job so it is really tough, plus I've never quit a job before in my life. I think I'll talk to my "boss" on tuesday and say that this will be my last week because for the next 2 weeks anyways I'd only be able to work fridays because I have interviews in Boston on tuesdays and work at the dept. of ed on wednesdays.
Yea so I have 2 interviews at boston companies filling the rest of this month. Actually this tuesday I have an interview with a NJ company but it's right on campus - so I'll just leave work early to go. Life is getting tough - it's looking like I'd be happiest in boston (always knew that) but job wise it's my best shot, and it's looking like my boyfriend's best shot at law school is in NYC. He got into Northeastern in boston but he doesn't like them because they don't have grades. He isn't keeping hopes up for BU or BC but he is still hoping for UConn which is a treck but definately doable at the least. NYC I just don't think I'd be happy working in NJ, everything I looked forward to in the years after graduating was living closer to my uncles and cousins and seeing them more, being a bigger part of their lives - as well as staying close to home which NJ is of course. Guess I'm just scared but I won't voice this until I know where he's gotten into and not and then we'll make the decisions. Only a few weeks to go.

Well it's been great but i have a lot of work to get back to - or start atleast :)

Texture Synthesis...

I have now spent 6 hours on synthesizing this stupid piece of texture that looks like a basket or something. At first way back when the algorithm wasn't perfected it was doing really great, now that i have the algorithm correct as I believe it to be (works for the edges now as well as the center) it doesn't work AT ALL. Then to really make me mad, ctrl-c isn't working to cancel the program while it's going so it just drones on and I have to wait for it to finish and retest it with new numbers.

Anyway, so that's my computer vision homework that's been a task since yesterday, after this texture synthesis I have one last programming question to do which should be somewhat simple since it's matrices and i'm used to those. Then I have to work on this website I'm doing for someone which is coming along well so far and I get paid really well for it.. this would ideally all be done tonight so that tomorrow my boyfriend can use the computer and guess what - I can cross stitch finallY! and quilt! I would absolutely love to get some relaxing done...

Friday I worked 9 1/2 hours which is good for the money but it was a long day, then I come home and my boyfriend wants to play civ 3 some more - so we did for a little while but then I started this assignment before falling asleep. I had already gotten the written part done and the first problem started earlier in the week. I haven't even looked at what kind of work I have in the rest of my classes due this week, I know i have a math test coming up soon and financial accounting just some quizzes I have to read and do the homework for.

So we're going out to visit my aunt and uncle next weekend - my cousin is healthy and adorable (got some pictures already). She came home on friday and this weekend is a big weekend with her two "big" sisters getting to know her and getting used to the new routine of a baby in the house. My uncle is getting his eye surgery this week so he won't need glasses, he figured since he's taking time off to be home for the baby might as well fit this in too, but he will probably be out of commission for a day or so i assume, don't know much about the surgery.

As for my health, not much better but I did go out to dinner tonight and eat a bit more than usual, though nothing all day except a mini bagel or two and some chocolate. Gotta kick whatever this thing is.
Well - gotta get the rest of my surfing done while my program is running so when it finishes i can see how wrong it is still and stare at it wondering why me!!!

I got the call this morning...

My aunt and uncle just had their third baby - a girl! (that's three girls). She was born at ~6am and she's doing really well, healthy and big! (that's what happens when you're 4 days late).

I can't wait to go visit them and see the new one, originally it would be this weekend but I think it's best to give the family their first weekend alone - let the other two get used to the new baby a bit and maybe next weekend we'll go out.

Still not stitching - now it's mostly because I'm not feeling well lately, gotta figure out what's wrong with me but I haven't been able to eat in 5 days now, I eat tid bits and it's leaving me exhausted. I have an appointment in 2 weeks at the doctor so if i'm not better by then I can talk to her about it, otherwise it's just an appointment to discuss new medication for allergies... another thing - I've been on zertec for years now and whenever I don't take it i have problems but it doesn't seem to help my allergies when I do take it so I'm trying not to take it (been about a week now) and suffering with itchiness but I take benadryl when I can't take it anymore.. I'm worried something's wrong with me and I need zertec or I'm just experiencing some withdrawal from it and I need to get away from my dependency. I really just want an allergy med I can take only when I need it instead of daily.

Well no need to blabber on about that... got school today then tonight I have to work on homework since I work all day friday!

Not doing too bad...

Considering I have no real cross stitching news lately... I did work a bit on It's Winter Friday night but then my sister came over and we just talked until about 2 am when our boyfriends showed up, so she left with hers and mine stayed. Yesterday was valentine's day - my boyfriend and I played Civ 3 all day long then went to dinner, then I started feeling sick and went to bed early (11). There is some really great news from last night however - my boyfriend got his first acceptance letter to law school!! It's Pace law school in White Plains, it's a third tier and definately a decent school. So now he's definately going to law school - if not Pace then a better one next year :)

Today I managed to play civ 3 for 4 hours in the morning (since 8 am) then clean the whole house - 2 1/2 hours, shower and relax - now my boyfriend is coming over for another 2 hours of civ before going out for the night, then I'll get my homework and work done hopefully so tomorrow won't be too stressful.

I started my new job on Friday - It's great, I learned a lot and even got a few tasks done, I can't wait to go back next Friday. The only downfall is that everyone there works crazy late hours and I felt really stupid leaving at 6 which was 9 hours (minus a lunch break) so I may work until 7 from now on, we'll see how it goes. I could even go in earlier once I get a hang of what I'm doing and I don't need anyone around since NO ONE gets there before 9, it's amazing. I really do like the work though and it's all new stuff to me, working with Oracle and PHP. Almost time to update my resume.

Well i will leave it at that, I have a few emails to get done before the boyfriend gets here :)

Wow - been a while...

I knew that would happen - 11 days since I last posted.

Anyhow - things have changed a bit... My school work is getting harder - I had a test on Monday - no problem though I think I did really well on it, and I have a huge homework assignment due Thursday that is driving me crazy (really wishing I didn't put it off until today to start). Atleast I have all tomorrow to get it done and hopefully get a start on my other homework assignment that's due next week.

My boyfriend's car is going bad - the waterpump went so it's in the shop and he's borrowing my car, thursday and friday i'm borrowing my mom's car for school and work - speaking of work, i got a job today as well. I had an interview for a part time job in the QA department of a medium size business. I got the job, it doesn't pay much but there's free parking (which is good in albany) and it's steady work so it's steady pay and I really need that right now.

As for cross stitch, i've hardly touched it lately - not since last week some time, this weekend was wasted away playing Civ III, way too many hours sitting at the computer getting swallowed by a game that takes forever to get anywhere - and it's still beckoning for me to come back and play but i'm avoiding the call... my reward tonight was to watch tv at 8 and 10 is Law and Order SVU so i'll watch that.

Well it's 10 so it's time for my show- hopefully afterward I can get back to working on my assignment before falling asleep - I just need to relax and not get stressed out because I know this is doable - same as the last one!

Friday!

Well here it is, friday, the beginning of the weekend - the first weekend that I actually have homework due on Monday! And a lot. My computational vision class homework is tough - the first two problems anyway (actually i haven't tried the second one yet but the first is killer) the other 2 problems are in Matlab and really easy, just some basic learning matlab stuff so that was no problem. Boy I hope he grades leniently, i don't know how i'm going to figure out these problems.

Besides that my financial accounting project part 1 is also due monday, but that's almost finished and i think my partner is working on it now. If not i could easily finish it in a matter of minutes because it's all in the book. Besides that i have a lot of reading to do this weekend.

And tonight is date night, my boyfriend is taking me to dinner then we're renting movies and watching movies the rest of the night - tomorrow will be getting more work done (reading while he uses the computer) and then relaxing while he goes out with his friends - cross stitch here i come! Sunday will be the really big homework day and maybe also get some work done.

So I haven't made much progress, none on the round robin - i did embroider a bit on the castle wednesday night but nothing last night since i got home so late. I do want to finish up the round robin this weekend - i think i'm going to work on it right now actually, that way i can start a new piece tomorrow night - the quilt piece probably since that will go quick. I also still have to order the kreinek threads i need for my new RR that starts in march. I should probably order soon - it's going to cost me about 10 dollars! Sometimes we have to make sacrifices! Well - that RR is calling my name!
